Dan has been the Principal and Athletic Director for DuBois Christian Schools since July 2011. He has been connected with Christian education since 1975, the year he first attended a Christian school in 4th grade. DuBois Christian Schools (formerly known as First Baptist Church Academy) is where Dan completed his final two years of high school, and he graduated in 1984. In 1988 he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcasting from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
From 1988 to 2010 Dan ministered in the field of Christian radio, but continued to serve various roles in Christian education as a school committee member or volunteer speech and history teacher at DCS. The current full-time opportunity came up in the summer of 2011. In addition to serving as Principal and Athletic Director, Dan also teaches junior high and high school history. He has also taught high school Bible and English as well as middle school science.
In 1988 Dan married his sweetheart since 10th grade, Diane. Diane is also a 1984 graduate of DCS, and is currently the 5th and 6th grade teacher and high school choir director. Dan and Diane are blessed with two children: Deidre (a 2010 graduate of DCS), who is preparing to graduate from Liberty University in May 2014 with a degree is psychology; and Dan II (a 2013 graduate of DCS), who is currently a freshman at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA majoring in youth ministry.
Dan and Diane reside in DuBois. Dan's interests include history, Christian music, and sports; but he enjoys nothing more than spending time with family.
