Pastor Matt Montgomery has been on staff since 2008.
He met his beautiful wife (and ministry partner), Erin, at Baptist Bible College, and they were married in 2008. Their first child, Hudson, was born in January of 2013!
Pastor Matt earned a B.S. from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA, where he studied Pastoral Ministries and an M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA.
He grew up in Southern California, but moved to DuBois in the middle of high school when his father (Pastor Mark) was called to pastor First Baptist Church. During his college years, he spent eight months living and working with missionaries in Durban, South Africa.
Pastor Matt has a youthful spirit and a passion for introducing people to Jesus. His ministry at the church includes leading Common Ground (youth group), playing guitar on the praise teams, teaching and serving as the chaplain at DuBois Christians Schools, preaching, and individual discipleship.
Having now lived in Pennsylvania for some time, Matt has a newly discovered appreciation for the outdoors and enjoys such activities as hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. He prefers an active lifestyle, choosing to join in activities with the teens, rather than watch from the sidelines.
