I have been the senior pastor of First Baptist Church since July 2002.
I was born in Johnson City, NY while my dad was a student at Baptist Bible Seminary. Most of my childhood and teen years were spent in Willingboro, NJ, where my dad was the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Willingboro.
I graduated from Baptist Bible College of Clarks Summit, PA in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology. It was during those years that I married Deborah Smith. We have three wonderful children, Melissa, Mark II, and Matthew. My hobbies are fishing and coin collecting.
After graduating from BBC I began working at Summit Baptist Academy and attended Grace Theological Seminary and earned a MA in Christian School Administration. The first 14 years of my ministry career were spent in Christian schools, mostly as an administrator.
Before coming to DuBois, we spent 11 years in Hemet, CA where I was the Associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hemet, CA.
We thank the Lord for leading us to DuBois. The wonderful people of First Baptist have been a great blessing and encouragement in our lives.
Philippians 1:3-6 is one of my favorite verses and is my prayer for our church.
Phil 1:3-6 "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
